The first thing you notice upon logging into PlayfulAlice.com is the site's heavy emphasis on personal information. The prominently featured 'About Me' and 'Facts' sections are comprehensive reserves of useless facts, filled with more trivia than any reasonable person could ever want to know about Alice: for instance, despite professing a liking for Marilyn Manson and having - count them - four tattoos she is also an avid collector of Disney figurines. This girl is clearly a beguiling mix of contradictions.
But despite excelling at the trivial, Alice clearly has a little more trouble making the substantive elements of her site work...

The picture sets show some promise and include (at the time of writing - March 07) 20 galleries, some with more than 200 images - but with a disappointing number of updates since launching it will be a while before this collection is fleshed out.
The videos are the biggest disappointment, however; with fewer than five up and none of those running for in excess of five minutes one can't help but get the sense that Alice's priorities are all wrong.
Only compounding this disappointing lack of content is the sheer lack of action within the videos themselves. To give you a taste of the kind of entertainment you're in for, one of the videos I downloaded ran for only 4 minutes and consisted of a full 3 and a half minutes of Alice futilely trying to make a bed, all the while making small talk in a distinctly Canadian accent. An experience that could doubtlessly be replicated for less money by following around the cleaning staff at the Toronto Hilton.
Pretty uninspiring stuff, really.
